Synhelion welcomes Thomas Syfrig as new CFO

Synhelion is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Syfrig as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and member of the Executive Committee. He will assume his duties after an introduction period starting March 25, 2024, succeeding the current CFO, Mirjana Blume, who departs on April 5, 2024.

With extensive expertise as a CFO and a specialist in financing, Thomas Syfrig (lic. oec. HSG and CFA) brings a wealth of experience to Synhelion. His diverse financial career began as an analyst at Credit Suisse and later involved a strategic role in the sale of Cablecom to Liberty Global, followed by a position in Corporate Development with Liberty Global in London. He continued his trajectory for six years in the Credit Recovery department of Credit Suisse in Zurich and New York and later at KPMG, followed by a CFO role at Bergbahnen Flumserberg, overseeing finance, HR, and IT. Most recently, he was CFO of the listed Poenina Holding until its merger with Burkhalter Group.

Synhelion’s Chairman Hans Hess remarks: “Thomas’ vast CFO experience, exceptional qualifications, and strategic insight perfectly align with Synhelion’s mission to scale up carbon-neutral solar fuel technology.” He also extends gratitude to Mirjana Blume for her instrumental role in developing the company’s financial framework and processes.

The Board and Executive Committee eagerly anticipate collaborating with Thomas on initiatives aimed at establishing Synhelion as the world’s leading provider of solar fuels.
